Born by the Inagawa River
Our roots, "Okamoto Tannery," were founded in 1955 by Toichi Okamoto along the water-rich Inagawa River in Kawanishi, Hyogo Prefecture — just outside Osaka.
From the beginning, we have specialized in leathers for sports gloves, including ski gloves. These leathers must meet the highest standards of strength, suppleness, and color in cold climates. For decades, we have honed this craft.

The "Hinomaru Glove," developed for the first time in Japan,
graced the hands of three athletes on the world's podium.

Since then, we have remained committed to one principle: as a material manufacturer, we exist to bring our clients' visions to life — to the fullest possible extent.
From lot size to deadlines to the smallest details of finishing, we prioritize our partners' wishes. As the quiet force behind the scenes, we have supported the creation of the world's leading fashion bags and leather goods.
Our deer leather, in particular, has been supplied to a traditional craft maker with over 400 years of history. Our hides have been transformed into bags, wallets, and shoes for premium global brands — and some have even been presented to the Imperial Household.
